




Ready Gunner and Nielsen Training
For years Ready Gunner has provided numerous courses with many different professional trainers. Our most popular session has been our concealed carry permit class. Followed close behind with our Handgun trainings.
We have a new updated training structure and integrated curriculum with Todd Nielsen of Nielsen Training and Consulting.
This team brings an elevated experience and credentialed expertise to Ready Gunner customers.
With over 25 years of law enforcement experience, Special Operations, Narcotic Enforcement, Critical Incident, Rapid Containment and Crowd Control, rest assured the techniques, skills and trainings are field tested and are based on best practices of real professionals.
Woody is still here with two brand new knees.
Erik, Patty and Matt round out the team of pros that are conducting trainings on a near daily basis.
Handguns
Our Handgun courses range from the most novice beginner classes to advanced technical home and self defense. Courses build skills one on top of another and provide a progressive path to proficient firearm use.
If you are new to Shooting, we encourage you to take the classes in the following order.

- Manipulations
- Low Light
Classes are focused on fundamentals of safety and best practices as you build your personal skill set.
If you have previously taken other training, feel free to reach out to our team to discuss skipping HG 1 and HG 2 classes and moving straight to Defensive Handgun.


COMPETITION HANDGUN
Our competition classes are available for all experience levels. The courses build from introduction to our final class, competition Handgun 2 which you will leave ready to compete at a high level.
The primary goal of this training is to provide participants with the foundational skills,
techniques, and knowledge required to compete effectively in USPSA and IDPA matches.
Additionally, the advanced training aims to enhance the skills of seasoned shooters, focusing on fine-tuning their techniques, increasing accuracy, and optimizing their performance under competitive conditions
- Introduction to USPSA and IDPA: rules, scoring, Division, and match procedures.
- Safety rules and equipment requirements for competitive shooting.
- Rescores for USPSA and IDPA: memberships, locations, and more.
- Basic shooting fundamentals: stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control.
- Target engagement techniques and drills.
- Movement and positioning strategies for effective stage execution.
- Introduction to stage planning and mental preparation.

RIFLE COURSES
Our Rifle courses allow you to bring your own personal rifle and learn effective concepts ranging from zero setting your rifle to moving and shooting with multiple targets in a variety of scenarios from calm single shot exercises to fast paced high stress induced move and shoot scenarios.
The rifle courses build upon one another as you learn and become proficient in each skill set.

WOMEN'S HANDGUN
e have three women’s only dedicated classes, Handgun 1, 2, and our weekly women’s shooting club.
We recognize shooting may be intimidating, in these classes our curriculum matches up with our regular handgun 1 and 2 classes but are always taught by a female and are catered to move at a little slower pace with a more gentle approach in the training.
SKILLS MAINTENANCE
Our skills maintenance classes offer an array of unique and focused classes on specific topics.
These classes are referred to as “Skills Maintenance” as they are designed to be follow-on classes to our regular inline handgun and rifle courses and provide in inexpensive and condensed timed class to practice the techniques learned in our core curriculum.
These classes are designed to provide nuanced variations of skills and techniques while interacting with our highest level of instructors and receive feedback in real time to make improvements and adjustments in a live fire setting to build your proficiency and skill set.
